Tips On Creating A Successful Email Strategy to Build Your Client List

Use a built-in email template

These are awesome as they take the stress and strain, and also the time out of creating emails. And if you have got your head around coding, you can make them look even more your own.

To further personalize, you can customize and make sure you get your branding front and center. Then you can really make them your own. Thus you are creating brand awareness.

I use Kajabi, (btw this isn’t an affiliate link) which enables you to add your logo and you can tweak templates to make them more about you. Thus putting in your personality.

Collect lead data. Loads of it

When you get to know someone, you get to everything you can about them. The same is said and definitely works for your customers and potential clients. And when you are creating your email strategy to build your client list, this data is gold.

This means you can then segment your contacts as well, so you can personalize emails that speak to their specific pain points. And it also is more specific to their demographic.

Then you can segment your customers and prospects into groups with similar traits and this helps you look at their buying behavior. This helps nail down your marketing.

Send an email newsletter

These are great as you can market yourself. Let people know what’s new and great about your company. They also help keep people informed about everything your company is doing. Bonus!

Keep email marketing aligned with social media

Your emails should keep your customers up to date with special offers and everything and anything which you are doing that they might be interested in. And you should also align them with your social media. There is that cross-polination again. Keep them in your world. SO important!

Use an email strategy to build client list through a welcome series

Any new client should be made to feel welcome and part of your company family.

You can use system triggers that automatically send them a series of welcome emails. You can send them contact information, then a few days later some how to guides about your product or service. Then send them a freebie a week later. They will love you for it. And you can answer any issues you may have.

Keep your pictures pretty awesome

People love pictures – so include them in your emails. This can also help with your click-through rates. Don’t go too mad though.

Keep that CTA strong baby!

Your call to action has to be super strong – people need to be guided through what to do – place it above the fold and make it stand out.

Make sure your  CTA is the centerpiece of your email. More hyperlinks will create confusion.

Make your subject lines compelling

These are so tricky – and I’ll be tackling them in a blog post of their own in the next few weeks. But it is so important to work on your email head line.

Write lists of them to see what works. Keep them tight and punchy. Some say no more than nine words is the key! But the main thing to remember is, if it isn’t going to attract someone to click on it, they will never even know about the goodness you have to offer.

Emojis baby

Can you believe the use of emoji’s in subject lines has increased by 775% in the last few years! These can help your email stand out. So use em!

Don’t buy email lists

It might be tempting to buy a list to grow your email marketing database, but don’t! You will be emailing people who don’t know you and your service or product. Instead attract fans to your brand with offers or discounts.

If you send do to bought lists, you’ll likely see loads of unsubscribes and spam reports. This will not do you any favors. It is a waste of time and money.

Think short, sharp and snappy with your email text

People are busy. And they don’t have time to read a really long email. So keep it punchy and concise. Make it direct and use bullet points. Make sure points are easily digested. And you can always give them a PS on the end in case they scroll down to the bottom.

Always offer value

Your client will always be wowed by content which can help them or solve a problem. So always make sure you deliver that value to them.

You should also always be honest with your offers. Otherwise, people will feel cheated, and it will be a sure-fire way to turn them off.

Proofread multiple times before sending

This is so important! Nothing screams amateur more than a typo in your content. It brings down your credibility and could be enough to dissuade potential customers.

So review, proofread, and review again so it is shiny spanking perfect! Finally send a test email and check it on your phone, your tablet, and your laptop. All bases covered!
